1. Backing Up our Veracrypt Storage Enclosure for Saftey
Now this will be a bonus video for those of you who really want to protect yourself. I’m going to show you how you can actually disconnect everything and make a backup copy of your vera crypt storage device. Now what you’re going to need to do is you’re going to need to disconnect all of your drives. So basically, you’re going to just simply press the, the X right here in all of your machines is connecting this. This is especially important if you are using an external drive. Don’t just pull the cord on the external drive. Don’t make that mistake. All right? The next thing you’re going to do is you’re going to go ahead and go into veracrypt and in veracrypt you’re going to dismount this particular drive.
Okay? All right. Now it says that it’s using some drive letters and it doesn’t appear to be using anything. So I’m going to say go ahead and force the dismount right here. Okay? And everything is fine and dandy. Then what I’m going to do is I’m going to go over here to where I have that stored, I believe it was on e. And here’s where I stored this ethical hacker right here. Now, depending on how secure you want to be now what I usually do is if I really want to be secure, then I’ll put this in my password safe. But if I don’t want to be secure, then I’ll make the password as part of the file name. But what you’re going to want to do right here is you’re simply going to want to make a copy of this.
So just simply copy and paste. All right? And this may take a while to do because it’s 125 gig and you’re going to copy it to another location. All right, I’m going to click on Cancel right here. So I’m going to go ahead and click on Copy and I’m going to tell you one of the best things that you can use is something called unstoppable. Let’s see if you can find it out on the Internet. There’s something called an unstoppable copier and it’s a really neat little freeware application. And here it is right here. It’s from roadkill, I think is what they call it. And where is it at here. And it’s pretty quick. All right. Now basically, this is what it looks like, all right? You got to agree to everything and this is what it looks like.
So it’s not going to stop. Like a lot of products will. If you’re copying something on Windows and it said, oh, this happened, or this isn’t quite right, it just stops. Well, you don’t want this thing to stop. You want it to keep copying and copying and get it whatever it takes, right? So you’re going to basically browse and find the source. And my source right here is going to be driveee and truecrip repositories work. And I’m going to want to get this ethical hacker vc. And I’m going to tell if I want to put it underneath it on Drive s out here. That would actually be pretty good. So let’s see if I can find some of the uw isos. All right. I’m going to just stick it right there if I could, and I’m going to just tell it I want to copy.
All right. And you can see it’s going to copy pretty quickly. I would venture to say this will take about an hour to copy or so, but it won’t stop. It won’t stop any kind of duress or something like that. And it’ll also tell you if it runs any kind of bad bytes or anything like that. It has a batch mode and it’ll basically tell you anything that you want and gives you some log files and a whole bunch of stuff. So basically it’s a freeware product that I really have been very impressed with. So this is, like I said, I’m going to put in here as a little bonus video for you guys who really want to back this up so you can have a copy to take to work.
